Chloe says this is because constant dieting eventually leads to a calorie deficit causing energy levels to plummet because of a protein called Leptin which is produced by fat tissue that helps regulate body weight and fat mass. A surge in calorie intake, by a treat day, will help the body maintain energy levels needed to continue dieting and exercising.

By occasionally boosting your caloric intake, you encourage your body to burn calories more rapidly instead of allowing it to adjust completely to the lower calorie lifestyle.

  1. I always try to eat well so that I don’t waste my time with my training routine, but I definitely have cheat meals every other day. Like you say, it helps! Plus it makes me happy šŸ˜Š

  2. Cheating can definitely help some to just indulge in foods for a day then be ready for get back on the healthy eating. For me it helps with cravings that can build up on particular food. In my opinion it helps reduce stress/anxiety which promotes my health as well
