Do Vegas Without Killing Yourself

Las Vegas is one of those places everyone should visit at least once, but a trip to the 24-hour-a-day city is not without its challenges. According to the Travel Thor, here are five of the ususual mistakes when most people make their first trip to Las Vegas.

Thinking the hotels are close together…

Going for a walk from your hotel to the one beside it sounds like a simple journey, but the distances are much greater than most people anticipate. You can leave your hotel room, walk for 10-15 minutes to get to the strip, and still not be close to the neighboring hotel. The hotels and resorts may be beside each other, but they are not close together.

Forgetting to drink water…

It is hot in Las Vegas – really hot. Most people also try to get a lot done during their time in the city, plus there is more eating and drinking (of the alcoholic variety) than usual. This all means you have to hydrate. Drinking plenty of water is one of the keys to a successful Las Vegas trip.

Not wearing sunscreen…

As it is hot in Las Vegas, you will need to wear sunscreen. It is a simple thing to do but it is surprising how many people forget or neglect it. Make sure you don’t forget to pack your sunscreen and ensure you put it on regularly when spending time outside.

Not taking advantage of free stuff…

There are loads of things to do in Las Vegas, but most of them cost money. Many are fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, however, and you should include some of them on your itinerary. Not everything in Las Vegas costs money, however. In fact, some of the free attractions are spectacular too. Popular examples include the fountains outside the Bellagio, the volcano outside the Mirage, and the Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo.

Doing Too Much Too Soon

One of the easiest things to do in Las Vegas is simply doing too much too soon. This could be anything from gambling to drinking alcohol to indulging at an all-you-can-eat buffet. The trick to an enjoyable trip to Las Vegas is to pace yourself. It isn’t going anywhere and hardly anywhere closes, so take your time.
